U.S. Department of State Announces Updates to the Family-Based Immigrant Visa pages on Travel.State.gov
On February 7, 2020, the Department of State announced important updates to the family-based immigrant visa pages on our website Travel.State.Gov. The updated information on family-based immigrant visas reflects the implementation of a fully digitized visa application process. World-wide implementation of the modern application process, which was completed in December 2019 for all new family-based applications, provides for a more efficient review of applications and supporting documents, faster processing times for qualified immigrant visa applicants, and cost savings to the American public. The updated pages have been crafted in plain language for increased transparency and clarity for petitioners and their family members. Updates to the pages are for accuracy and clarity only; no policy changes have been made to family-based immigrant visa processing. For more information, please see https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration.html.
